The summer is finally here, after a year and a half of giving up, the light at the end of the tunnel is brighter than ever and our lives are back to a kind of normality. It would be the right time to indulge in Permanent Makeup and get back to taking care of yourself, but is this really possible in summer?
The main point to make is that there are no contraindications to Permanent Make-Up in the summer season, just a few extra precautions to follow.
So get ready to abandon pencils and eyeshadows that melt with water and sweat, to lipsticks and glosses that don’t last and enjoy a magnetic look without wasting entire evenings applying the coveted eyeliner!
Sunbeams and Permanent Makeup.
Regardless of whether or not you have applied permanent make-up, it is important to remember that the skin must be protected from the sun at all times of the day.
In the case of post-treatment protection will be your best friend against pigment oxidation, which will cause abnormal loss of colour or, in the worst case, a greyer tone.
For this reason, no direct exposure to the sun for at least 7 days after treatment – after all, the sun will be there waiting for you!
Before Treatment: Here are the steps to follow.
As we have often said, the success of the treatment is not only determined by the care in the subsequent phase, but also by how it is taken care of beforehand: a healthy and well cared for skin will always guarantee an excellent result, which is why it is important to remember to protect the skin in the week before the treatment, and it is forbidden to undergo the treatment with burnt or damaged skin.
“Will I have to give up the beach altogether?“
Absolutely not! All you have to do is apply high sun protection and wear that gorgeous straw hat, so you’ll feel like you never had a chance to show it off!

Beware of Diving into the Sea.
For the next 7 days it is always best to avoid diving into the sea or swimming pool to avoid interfering with healing and especially with the fall of the small scabs that will form to protect the area, which it is important to remember must regenerate.
Go for long walks without submerging your face, your blood circulation will thank you.
Permanent Makeup, Self-Tanners and Lamps Don’t Always Go Together.
A special mention should be made of the use of self-tanning products: these are forbidden as they could interfere with the natural evolution of healing; and the use of sun lamps, for which the same applies as for sun exposure, are forbidden for the week following the treatment as they are too intense and would inevitably change the colour of your tattoo.
Hydration and hygiene must never be lacking.
Last but not least, correct hydration and above all hygiene of the treated area is essential: the sea, the beach, the heat and above all perspiration tend to irritate and dry out the skin, so it is important to keep the treated area clean and above all to use moisturising and rebalancing creams to encourage the skin to heal as quickly as possible.
Conclusions.
Permanent make-up in the summer does not mean giving up sunbathing and swimming, nor does it mean living a half-hearted summer.
Forget everything you’ve heard over the years, and think about the fact that half of the globe lives with sun and heat all year round, without giving up anything!
